To Major W. Van R. Whitall, American philanthropist : 2 autograph letters signed ; 23 Feb - 24 Aug 1925, in regard to a (forged) letter from Shelley to Godwin (S'ANA 0227) which refers to an Irish saint. Also discusses James Stephens's move to America. Also: one note in unknown hand on Irish saints. The "Shelley" letter and extensive commentary are printed in Shelley and His Circle, vol. V, p. 6-15.

Percy Bysshe Shelley (1792-1822), poet, was born at Field Place, Warnham, on 4 August 1792, and attended the Sion House academy at Brentford, and then Eton.
